You can delete your KitchenPilot account at any time. This removes your account and all associated content. There are two ways:

1. Directly in the app (recommended)

Open the KitchenPilot app on your Android device and sign in.
Go to the Settings tab.
Tap "Delete Account" at the bottom.
Confirm the deletion in the dialog.

2. No longer have access to the app?

If you have already uninstalled the app or no longer have access, you can request deletion by email. Please send your request from the email address your account is registered with - this allows us to verify your identity.

Important: Cancel your subscription separately

Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are handled by the app store and can only be cancelled there by you - we are technically unable to do this for you. Please cancel your subscription separately, otherwise billing continues.

Open the Google Play app and tap your profile picture.
Go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Select KitchenPilot → Cancel subscription.

What data is deleted

Once deletion is initiated, your account is first deactivated. After a 30-day grace period, the following data is permanently deleted:

Account data (email address, name, profile picture, settings)
Your content: kitchens, pantry items, recipes, shopping lists
AI data (prompts and generated responses)
Push notification identifier

What data is retained by law

Billing data for in-app purchases (transaction IDs, amounts, timestamps) must be retained for up to 10 years due to statutory retention obligations (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB, German law). This data is separated from the deleted account (pseudonymized) and erased after the retention period ends.

Grace period & cancelling the deletion

After deletion is initiated, a 30-day grace period applies. Within this period, you can reactivate your account by signing in again in the app. Seven days before final deletion, you will also receive a reminder email. Your data is only permanently deleted after the 30 days have elapsed.
